Streaming Test

The Streaming Video will be transmitted in the QuickTime Streaming format using the PLAY streaming system. To be able to view the video stream (live or afterwards on-demand), you need to have QuickTime version 6.0 or later (the current version is 6.5.1) installed on your computer. If you are ETH employee you can get the QuickTime Player Pro (Windows or Mac) for free through IDES. If you do not have access to the IDES system yourself, please ask your IT coordinator to get it and maybe even install it for you. Alternatively, you can download and install the free QuickTime Player from Apple's download site.

If you are viewing the video & slides presentation from outside the ETH, an internet connection with at least 256 kbit/s download speed (e.g. Cable or DSL modem) is required. Should the video freeze or other problems occur, close the PLAY player window and click the "View Presentation" button again.

Below is a QuickTime test movie. Please use it prior to the streaming event to check that your QuickTime installation works properly. You should hear sound and see a text that tells you that you are ready for streaming. It will also display the connection speed that is set in your QuickTime Player Settings. Please make sure that the connection speed setting corresponds to your actual internet access speed. If you see the video but hear no audio, please check the sound output settings on your computer.
