The project MyLibrary@ETH will provide personalized access to the extensive electronic resources provided by the ETH Library. With the project the library is responding to a customer need, which was identified in a user survey carried out at the end of 2001. The library users desire a tool with which then can manage all the electronic resources that they need for their scientific work.

For optimum support the users will be offered a choice of start pages (default pages) that have been tailored for different target groups, taking differing user profiles and information needs into account. The defaults will be easy to change to match the exact requirements of each user.

MyLibrary@ETH will be based on the open-source tool uPortal as the technical framework. This will allow for synergies with the development work for personalized access to the ETH Zurich homepage.
