Wireless networks (WLANs) allow instant, in-class communication between server and laptop computer, between professor and student. This Filep project explores the use of this technology to increase active student participation, especially in large classes. Such interactions can be initiated by the teacher or by the students. For example, the professor can carry out an assessment to obtain feedback about the students? learning experience or a poll to get an opinion. The students can, for example, send questions anonymously during the lecture.

The project team has developed a prototype that handles multiple-choice tests and has used it in a few class settings. This project aims to develop a system that covers a much wider range of assessment types and that works in a wider range of settings.
